Text a human to reserve

Reservations are by text, and a real human texts you right back. No apps, no online booking: we’re new to the neighborhood and we’d genuinely rather hear from you. It’s a little room, 25 seats at the bar, so we take reservations for parties of two to five. Six or more is seated on the patio, first come, first served, and we’re working on a private dining space for larger groups. We always hold at least a third of the bar for walk-ins, and we seat our patio when the weather cooperates, also on a first come, first served basis. So if the mood strikes, just stop in and put your name down. Craving something to go? Send us a text and we’ll see what we can do.

Umbo is at 430 E. Front Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49686, in downtown Traverse City.
What are Umbo’s hours?
Umbo serves dinner Thursday through Monday, 4:30–9:30pm. We’re closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. We’re open New Year’s Eve.
Does Umbo take reservations?
Yes. Reservations are by text at (231) 944-2797, for parties of two to five, seated at the indoor bar. Parties of six or more are seated on the patio, first come, first served. Oysters, tinned fish and conservas, caviar, and coastal small plates, with an all-Michigan natural wine list plus Michigan beer and cider.

Umbo is from Cameron Rolka and Sarah Welch, the team behind Marrow and Mink in Detroit.

Yes. Gift cards are physical cards, sold in person at the restaurant, 430 E. Front Street in Traverse City. They aren't sold online yet.

Yes. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, and accessible parking is available.
