This policy covers eatumbo.com, run by Umbo Traverse City, LLC, doing business as Umbo, at 430 E. Front Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49686. We’re a small restaurant, so here’s all of it.

What we collect

• Your email address, if you join our mailing list.
• What you send us, if you text, call, or email: your number or address, and whatever is in your message, like a reservation, an event inquiry, or a to-go order.
• Basic technical details. When a page loads, the services listed below receive your IP address and browser details, the way they would for any website.

This site doesn’t run analytics or ad trackers, and it doesn’t set its own cookies.

How we use it

• Mailing list: to send you menus, events, and the occasional dinner. We email you to confirm first, and nothing else goes out until you do. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Texts, calls, and emails: to answer you and take care of your reservation, event, or order. We don’t send marketing texts, and we don’t add your number to any list.

Who else sees it

We don’t sell your information. We share it only with the services that keep this site running:

• Kit stores mailing list addresses and sends our emails. Kit’s privacy policy
• GitHub Pages hosts this website. GitHub’s privacy statement
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces on these pages. Google’s privacy policy
• OpenStreetMap serves the map on our Visit page. OpenStreetMap’s privacy policy

We may also share information if the law requires it. Links to Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps, press, and other sites take you off eatumbo.com, where their own policies apply.

How long we keep it

Mailing list addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Messages stay only as long as they’re useful for your reservation, event, or order.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any email with one click. To see, correct, or delete what we have about you, email sarah@eatumbo.com or text (231) 944-2797, and we’ll take care of it.

Children

This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think we have, tell us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
